Joan Rivers Is Being Brought Out Of Her Medically Induced Coma!

joan rivers being brought out medically induced coma

This could be good news!

Joan Rivers has been in a medically induced coma since last Thursday, after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest while she was having a procedure on her vocal cords.

As of Sunday, doctors were bringing Joan out of the coma, but they’re not sure what to expect on the other side. A source explained:

“The waking-up process has begun and will take until Tuesday. There is real concern that the part of the brain that controls motor skills may have been compromised, leaving her as either a vegetable or in a wheelchair.”

In the meantime, Joan’s daughter Melissa Rivers is thinking of suing the hospital where the 81-year-old’s initial procedure was botched! A different insider said:

“Shock and upset is turning to anger, and they are looking for someone to blame. The night before, she was performing and now she is on life support. An 81-year-old should not have that procedure as an outpatient. Very ill advised.”

So sad!

Melissa gave another statement on Sunday, where she told people, “We are keeping our fingers crossed.”

We’ll keep ours crossed too! And send lots of positive thoughts the family’s way.

Joan is a fighter, so hopefully Tuesday brings good news!

After saying Palestinians, including children, deserve to die and the women that were abducted and raped for twenty years in Ohio shouldn't complain because they lived rent free she deserves to be a vegetable. The world will be a better place when she's no longer a part of it.

She can sue all she wants, but Joan signed a consent for the surgery knowing all the risks included - even death.

Re: Mad Dog – I agree. Just as those were fair play, so is she. I'm a comedian, I can say that about Joan Rivers. Oh, and take your tacky jewelry on your way to hell.

Re: Mad Dog – Its called schtick. she's a comedienne. if she didnt make fun of people, she wouldnt have a career. people take themselves too damn seriously. lighten up. its no reason to wish death or incapacitation on anyone.

unfortunately coming out of the coma is just standard medical procedure. It does not mean that they see any improvement. On Tuesday they will probably do an e.e.g and/or cat scan to see what brain function she has or does not have. Then the family will have to make some tough decisions.

If she is also on life support they will most likely shut it off by tomorrow.

Re: Mad Dog – Get help…you are one angry, hateful person…Like Joan is the problem in this world? She is a great mother and grandmother who puts on an ACT…Rape, abuse, mistreatment of others is what is WRONG in this world…people spewing hate and anger in this world is what is wrong. I wish Joan the best…and her family.

Re: Dina – I was about to say the same thing..so many have zero medical knowledge…Docs know if there is brain function…they perhaps are not telling the public to keep it private…I hope she pulls out of it…the hate on these comments makes me sad…god forbid a woman be outspoken and controversial…such a double standard…I agree with the compliments, those who know her. love her…she has an ACT people…give it a rest and wish her the best.

Re: cro1983 – Bullshit. she's a mean-spirited nasty old hag, who meant every word she uttered with respect to wishing more people die in Gaza.

They probably knew by Thursday already that she was gone. The induced coma was just a way to buy some time.

Oh god someone just put this woman out of her misery.

She is a terrible person, I do not care if its her career to make really inappropriate jokes, I do not care if she is famous for being controversial, she is a terrible person for lacking any empathy towards anyone who isn't in her face and physically wounded.

Besides, my opinion or not, being put on life support usually means that whatever happens afterwards wont be good.

Joan's a lot of things, but boring isn't one of them. I liked her wit more times than I didn't like it, but I always paid attention. To work as hard as she has right up until the age of 81 says a lot about her inner grit.

Re: Mad Dog – Have you ever walked Joan Rivers path?

She's come from a past that's very dark. Her husband committed suicide in the 80's and she almost did herself. She had the gun on her lap, ready to do it and then her dog jumped on her lap and laid down on the gun. It only took her those few seconds, between getting ready to shoot herself in the head to when her dog jumped up on her lap to regain a sense of reality and snap out of it and realize what she was doing. So her spending the rest of her life MAKING FUN OF LIFE sure isn”t half bad compared to REAL tragedy that goes on the world. That tragedy is REAL- vs SILLY WORDS? Joan has a kindness and sensitivity when it really counts - just as much as her humor- but most people never see it because the media loves to flaunt just her public commedienne persona.

The same happend to my mom she went in for a small facial procedure under conscious sedation on 24 Jan 2013 and was in a vegetated state ever since, She passed away on 21 Aug 2014. 1 year and 8 months of hell for us as family. Her mid brain was not injured so there was no choice of putting any machine of. No one deserves to die this way!
