This is awful!
Here's the whole story (below):
We are still so shocked that we've lost such a comedy legend.
Joan Rivers passed away today, and the outpouring of love for the late comedienne has been immense.
David Letterman, also a protegé of late night legend Johnny Carson, made a statement on the death of our favorite funny lady, who had been excommunicated by Carson after getting her own competing late night show despite having previously been his permanent guest host.
Here's what the Late Show host had to say about Joan's passing:
“Here’s a woman, a real pioneer for other women looking for careers in stand-up comedy. And talk about guts – she would come out here and sit in this chair and say some things that were unbelievable, just where you would have to swallow pretty hard… but it was hilarious… the force of her comedy was overpowering.”
She really was a one-of-a-kind comedic force of nature.
Rest in peace, Joan.
