Joan Rivers brought us plenty of laughter throughout the years.

There's no question that today is a very sad day as the world has lost comedy and fashion icon Joan Rivers, who died earlier today at age 81.

But as her daughter Melissa Rivers pointed out, one of her favorite things in the world was making other people laugh.

So in honor of all of the years she made us smile, we wanted to look back at some of Joan's best moments from her days as a stand-up comedienne:

Joan Rivers on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1967

Joan Rivers tells Johnny Carson Melissa's first words were "shut up" in 1972

Joan Rivers on The Carol Burnett Show in 1974

RIP Joan and I hope your passing was peaceful.
Loved watched her on Johnny Carson back in the day (and when I could stay up that late).
Didn't she used to do an Oscar pre-show on fashion a few years ago? Cannot remember the name, maybe that was the Fashion Police show.
