Hollywood Isn't So Gay-Friendly After All?? It's True, According To THIS!

This is just sad.

It seems like Hollywood accepts the LGBT community with open arms, but this a study of 5,700 SAG-AFTRA members might prove that isn't the case.

UCLA's LBGT-focused Williams Institute discovered that the majority of lesbian, gay, and bisexual performers believe directors and producers are "biased against LGBT performers."

53 percent to be exact.

The study also claimed that MORE THAN a third of participants have witnessed some sort of "disrespectful treatment" to entertainers on set who identify as LGBT — including anti-gay comments.

Authors M.V. Lee Badgett and Jody L. Herman said:

"We found that LGBT performers may have substantial barriers to overcome in their search for jobs."

No kidding!

Considering how progressive Hollywood is in comparison to the rest of the world, it is scary to think about ALL the hate still left to fight!

Yes, they are also biased against shitty fucking performers. Example: Mario (Perez Hilton) decides to go audition for a role in a movie. The role calls for a masculine leading role. Mario reads the part with arms flailing and feminine lisp in overdrive and terrible acting. Does the director not give him the part because he's gay or because he simply isn't right for the part?

Seoncdly - I know a ton of gay actors. And a majority of them simply can't pull of a masculine character. They can't escape their own mannerisms in order to portray a roll correctly. It's that simple. If they could pull it off, they would be hired. If you're going to read a part like an angry bull dyke or a flamboyant queen then expect not to get the role, unless, ofcourse, you can adapt (ACT THE FUCKING PART) and become that character. ITS FUCKING SIMPLE>

And did this study show how many in the industry also treat straight actors like shit? The industry as a whole is filled with shitheads and pricks - especially at the top - they can't stand anyone so why should we feel any worse for gays? Getting kinda tired of the LGBT community acting like they are some privileged species.

Everything is a matter of the demand and offer. We can clearly see it every day with commercial advertising. The advertising market targets women because they are the largest customer for now. Now, in order to comfort the gay community "aka the LGBT ", I would tell them to still wait a half century from here that the poeple majority will be bisexual or gay.
