Some stars, like Gabrielle Union, have contacted the FBI to try to track down the culprits behind the massive privacy breach.

Unfortunately, it's going to be a tough investigation. One source is ready to give an update on the progress of the hunt, but it's not a lot. Here's what investigators think so far:
"This isn't one rogue hacker, this is the work of a ring of hackers. It will take time to track them down. The early theory is that at least some of those in the hacking ring are US- based because some of the names on the 'master list' are actresses or personalities who are only known to someone who watches US cable TV."
The source is referring to stars of American shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Nashville that appeared on a list of hacked names.

But we're just not sure that theory holds water. With the Internet, people can watch TV programs from all around the world.
Any leads that get them on the path to finding these guys are helpful, but is this really all they have to go on so far?
