Beyoncé's Feminist Values Questioned Once More! Another Singer Isn't Buying It All Just Yet!

no title

The Beygency is going to be pissed - because yet another person has stepped forward to criticize Beyoncé

Or more specifically, her feminist values!

Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox is calling out the XO singer in an article for GLBT website PrideSource, pointing fingers at her recent MTV Video Music Awards vanguard performance.

The 59-year-old argued:

"I would call that 'feminist lite.' L-I-T-E. I'm sorry. It's tokenistic to me. I mean, I think she's a phenomenal artist—I just love her performances—but I'd like to sit down [with her]. I think I'd like to sit down with quite a few artists and talk to them. I'd like to listen to them. I'd like to hear what they truly think."

While we do think it's a word not everyone fully understands, let us point out that in addition to music, Beyoncé has openly said feminism and equality are important

So it seems like Miz Lennox needs to do her Beysearch before dragging the Queen into her argument!
Annie also called out other female artists for using the word too freely:

"I see a lot of it as them taking the word hostage and using it to promote themselves, but I don't think they necessarily represent wholeheartedly the depths of feminism—no, I don't."

She continued:

"I think for many it's very convenient and it looks great and it looks radical, but I have some issues with it. I have issues with it. Of course I do. I think it's a cheap shot. I think what they do with it is cheap. What can I tell you? Sex always sells. And there's nothing wrong with sex selling, but it depends on your audience. If they're 7-year-old kids, I have issues with it."

Well then…

We'd love to see some pop stars respond to Annie's call to arms.

Although mostly positive, it's sure to cause some smoke!

Annie Lennox is correct. Beyonce is not a feminist in any form or fashion. She's a great singer and performer, but feminist she is not. The word is just being tossed around lightly. True feminists do not get up on stage and sell sex. Again, nothing wrong with selling sex in my opinion, but it's not a feminist quality. None of the current female pop stars are feminists - but I think Beyonce is the only one claiming to be.

Beyonce is NOT a feminist. She can sing, I'll give you that. A feminist would not use her body or photoshop her pictures like she does. A feminist would not sexualize herself to make money or sell her music. Big whip - she has "openly said feminism and equality are important…" It doesn't mean she's a feminist. A feminist would also object to someone calling her Queen. You need to get your nose out of hers and Kim Kardashian's asses.

Beyonce is just a tool, a puppet in the hands of an evil corporation. But the fact remains that she is itself a devil worshiper!
Make no mistake with his sweet words. The devil himself had use these same sweets words to charm his angel brothers. And hell was their wages of sin.

Question…it is important. We live in a patriarchal society. Beyance is free to be a sex object…dehumanized by performing with her face covered up…just don't call it feminism…women are not angels or bunnies or objects…it's disturbing that Rhianna, Bayance, Miley, Nikki believed they are empowered…go to college and learn.

The worst example of a woman calling herself a feminist when she is obviously not is Hillary Clinton. She stayed with a perpetual cheater in order to ride his coat tails. Ride Hillary Ride

Yeah, she's not a feminist. When you sing about men as a whole being inferior to women, you aren't promoting equality. It was sickening when she had the word in big letters behind her at the VMAs, and everyone was like OMG! Queen! Slay! Best feminist EVAR! Uh, no. Annie's right - Beyonce used the word to brand herself without actually thinking about what it means, and that's problematic for young girls who follow Beyonce mindlessly.

Annie is so right! Not only has Beyonce taken the word hostage and used it for convenience and sales, but she has twisted the concept of feminism and sold it to young girls in a very dangerous way. Feminism isn't about shaking your ass.

Perez, Beyoncé is no queen. She's overrated. I agree with Annie Lennox, a woman whose have a strong and active career for over 30 years might I add.

B is cheap, and has probably never cracked a book or had an independent thought in all her life. What a pleb.
