Gia Soriano had been in critical condition at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett from a gunshot wound to the head. She unfortunately passed on Sunday.
The 14-year-old high school freshman was shot when a popular student brought a gun to school on Friday and opened fire, killing another girl instantly and seriously wounding three others.
Gia's parents released a statement, read by Dr. Joanne Roberts at a press conference, saying:
"We are devastated by this senseless tragedy. Gia is our beautiful daughter, and words cannot express how much we will miss her."
Senseless is the right word. There is still no motivation known for the shootings.
Gia's passing brings the death toll to three, including the shooter.
Three more victims remain in the hospital, two in critical and one in serious condition.
