Do You Listen To Taylor Swift On Spotify? Not Anymore You Don't! The 1989 Singer Just Removed ALL Her Music!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooMusic MinuteTaylor Swift

taylor swift took down all her albums from spotify wtf why

Looks like Taylor Swift is going to have A LOT of angry fans on her hands!

The 1989 singer has removed her albums from the popular music streaming service Spotify.

By 'her albums' we mean like every. single. one. that was available!

The decision, however, isn't all that surprising considering 1989 wasn't even available on the service due to a "decision by the artist" according to their spokesperson.

Well, Tay-Tay's people were NOT happy with Spotify's finger-pointing so they removed all of her music in retaliation!

OUCH!

Spotify ain't taking this slight by the pop princess laying down, though!

They released a statement on their website, saying:

"We love Taylor Swift, and our more than 40 million users love her even more – nearly 16 million of them have played her songs in the last 30 days, and she's on over 19 million playlists.

We hope she'll change her mind and join us in building a new music economy that works for everyone. We believe fans should be able to listen to music wherever and whenever they want, and that artists have an absolute right to be paid for their work and protected from piracy. That's why we pay nearly 70% of our revenue back to the music community.

PS – Taylor, we were both young when we first saw you, but now there's more than 40 million of us who want you to stay, stay, stay. It's a love story, baby, just say, Yes."

DAMN, gurl! They're begging to get back together more than the guy that We Are Never, Ever, Ever Getting Back Together is about!

Seriously, though, they even made a HIGHlarious playlist begging her to come back (above)!!

On the realz, think about who you're REALLY hurting in this situation… the fans!

If you've taken down all your albums, then how are people who might be converted into a fan gonna buy your music now?

On blind faith? Not likely gurl…

Spoitify is 70% bullshit. Rosanne Cash had 600k streams in 18 months and got paid under $200 for those plays. Artists like Swift (and less so like Cash) might not need the big dollars from streaming systems, but most aren't pulling in big dollars and are NOT getting paid.

Swift pulling her music is GREAT - bc no one else w her profile is bringing this up as an issue for recording artists.

Spotify doesn't pay the artists or writers hardly anything. All money goes to labels and execs. She should keep it off, if streaming wants to win they have to start paying writers and artist their fair share.

Please! I'm all for no piracy, but it's not like Taylor needs the extra money.

Re: jay – That's not Spotify's fault. That's the record label's fault for offering iffy deals to artists. The contract they sign has written out what percentage they will get paid from radio play and online streaming.

Re: Chel – she might not, but this is an issue bigger than her. I doubt you'd do work and get paid fractions of a cent for it.

She's a greedy commercial whore now. What's so surprising by it?

don't you all get it? people who stream will not invest money in buying cds (digitally or not)…they will download the music online for free. if that's what you all want, then yeah, let LEGAL streaming die…

Then I guess I'm just not listening to Taylor Swift nearly as much these days. I have a few of her songs on my ITunes, but I definitely won't go and buy all the ones I usually listen to.

Re: jay – ehhhh no, the labels and execs needs to pay more to the artist. And not take most of the money for them self.

Look, I can understand why she wouldn't want her new album on Spotify but why delete every single album/song she ever did? That just pisses off fans. I have several of her CDs, that I bought but it was nice to have something I could listen to "on the go" I think she's starting to become selfish and I see a transition in her that I hoped I wouldn't see. Oh well!

It’s a sad day in the music industry for most teen sensed pop loving girls!

Taylor Swift pulled her entire album from Spotify!

How dare she? It’s becoming sad and pathetic to watch wonderful artists go mainstream and forget why they entered the industry in the first place. We all remember Swift as the young hit sensation who started off by wanting people to hear her music anywhere. Today, she pulls her entire list of music from Spotify leaving fans with a bitter taste in their mouths.

Shouldn't she just be happy that people still want to listen to her? She's already made millions off of this album. What does leaving her music on Spotify hurt? She's a greedy twat. I seriously do not understand why anyone over 15 likes her.

I respect her taking a stand for her own finances, but if I can't hear it on Spotify I just won't hear it. I'm not going to buy it without knowing what if it's any good.

Another reason I LOVE Spotify. No Taylor Bitch music. Love all the kids on here who don't work or pay bills taking about earning money. Poor Taylor.

OH PLEASE, we can all see she is being money minded now. Consumers have absolutely NOTHING to lose! If we are not going to be able to stream it, we will just fall back to piracy. iTunes is on its way to the bin for all I care. Smart move tayswift.

Why can other artistes less popular than her be fine with releasing their debut albums on spotify but not her? Beyonce didn't release her smash hit album, but at least she didn't went childish and remove all her albums. Either she is totally uneducated in the area of technology or she is just being immature. Why don't she release it on vinyl? Steaming will eventually be the future and she will have to face it to stay in the game. Can't wait for Katy perry and rihanna to teach this immature girl a lesson at the EMAs pfft

People please wake up. It is not that she is not earning from streaming services AT ALL. In fact users are paying through streaming by subscription or ads. The problem here is rather she feels that she is not earning ENOUGH. It is just the matter of greed. Give it a month and the album will be gone from the charts, then she will realise that streaming will provide her consistent earning

Buying her album is probably the last thing I'll ever do, especially if it is made only exclusive to iTunes and amazon etc. This is just unfair competition. Disgusting
