This is such a huge moment in Ty Herndon's life, and we commend him for being so brave!
The 51-year-old country star has publicly come out as a gay man.

Although he's known this for a very long time and came out to his closest friends and family members quite a while ago, he hid his story from the world until he was inspired to share it while attending a seminar.
Ty explained to People magazine on Tuesday evening:
"During an Anthony Robbins seminar, I realized I had an incredible story that could possibly help someone's son or daughter or grandchild's life not be as difficult as mine has been. Maybe they wouldn't have to go through as much pain and suffering. It's time to tell my truth.
I'm an out, proud and happy gay man."
But this revelation wasn't an easy one for the singer.
He opened up about how his mother was concerned with his career path and the life he chose, saying:
"My mother probably knew I was gay before I did. I remember sitting down with her and having the conversation, she was more concerned about me having a happy life. You have to be able to do that in your own skin, and [my family] has seen me struggle with being gay my whole career."
Well, the struggle is over now that Ty has come out to the world!
The country music industry has been pretty accepting of the LGBT community lately, especially since they awarded Kacey Musgraves with a CMA award for her song Follow Your Arrow!
Sounds like Ty doesn't have too much to worry about now!
