And we're at such a loss of words, we're going to let Miz Teigen tell you what went down:
Movie Memorabilia Sells For BIG Bucks! You Wont BELIEVE How Much People Spent On These Pieces Of Hollywood History!
If you're hoping to own your very own piece of Hollywood history, you better have some DEEP pockets!!
Monday night at the ‘TCM Presents: There's No Place Like Hollywood' Auction at Bonhams in Manhattan, cinephiles got a chance to bid on some iconic pieces of movie memorabilia, and it was NOT cheap!
The piano is probably best known from Ingrid Bergman's infamous line, "Play it, Sam." However, actor Dooley Wilson didn't even know how to play piano, and had to pretend he was playing throughout the film!
That's an awful lot of money for a piano that was never actually played on camera!!
Surprisingly, that wasn't even the most expensive item of the night, as the original Cowardly Lion costume worn by Bert Lahr in The Wizard of Oz sold for more than $3 million!
Of course, there were other items for sale for movie lovers with a tighter budget, like a Springtime for Hitler poster from The Producers, which sold for $8,750! And don't forget the idol Indiana Jones stole at the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark, which raked in $16,250!
While $2.9 million is a LOT to pay for a piano, we're guessing it will be well worth it when this guy gets to play As Time Goes By for his guests at his next party! LOLz!
