Shia LaBeouf Says He Was Raped During His Performance Art Exhibit - One Woman Turned The Experience Into Trauma

| Filed under: Shia LaBeoufSad Sad

shia labeouf raped during art performance

What the hell?!

Earlier this year in February, Shia LaBeouf put together an #IAmSorry performance art piece in Los Angeles.

It was completely offbeat and left everyone wondering what was going on, but it also really moved some people who came away with amazing stories of the experience.

Unfortunately, Shia was left with one horrible experience. He says he was raped.

He opened up to Dazed Digital in an interview, and revealed a story he never told about the art exhibit:

"One woman who came with her boyfriend, who was outside the door when this happened, whipped my legs for ten minutes and then stripped my clothing and proceeded to rape me… There were hundreds of people in line when she walked out with dishevelled hair and smudged lipstick. It was no good, not just for me but her man as well. On top of that my girl [Mia Goth] was in line to see me, because it was Valentine's Day and I was living in the gallery for the duration of the event – we were separated for five days, no communication. So it really hurt her as well, as I guess the news of it travelled through the line. When she came in she asked for an explanation, and I couldn't speak, so we both sat with this unexplained trauma silently. It was painful."

We don't know if any charges or anything more came from this horrible attack that Shia is now talking about.

But we do hope he is healing and recovering from something so traumatic.

The real question is……………how does a woman rape a man??? Will someone please explain?

Re: chris – I think it would be much easier for you to understand if you simply kill yourself, and after that you go ask the question to God himself. You know. I've always said He (God) was gifted to make understand simple things to narrow-minded people…

Re: chris – When a woman has sex with a man without his consent, it is rape. How difficult is that to understand?

How can a woman force a man to get an erection against his will? Maybe that's the mystery question.

  5. 5

The fact that Shia allowed this makes me freaked out to think where Shia's line would have been. I can't imagine.

  6. 6

Valentine's Day, really? Like that does not add insult to injury. But that's Shia…

Too bad we can't toss him over the wall into a maximum security prison so he can get the full gang rape experience.

It is possible for a man to achieve an erection without the experience being consensual. Physiology and emotion and consent are completely different things.

Re: Not Believable – Where is it written that he had an erection?
It is simply about a Madwoman who tried its luck on a guy, and the latter, apparently didn't wanted to do anything with (crazy ladyyy!!!) her.

This is not believable he starred in a movie Nymphomaniac: Volume 1 and 2 . In volume 2 there is a scene when the lead actress would hire a guy to whip her. The movie was released in March of 2014. So did this really happen or is this some sort of late promotion?

Re: ^^ – Rape by definition involves sexual intercourse. Anything less is not rape.

Did he file a case and if so, when does the court case come up?

  15. Anonymouse says – reply to this

    15

1 - NO one believes anything that Shia says.
2 - this is such an insult to the people that are ACTUALLY raped. Rape is sexual intercourse/penetration WITHOUT consent (either not given or cannot give consent). Shia consented by having a big sign that says "do anything to me you like" and never once, according to his story, pushing her off or saying "no". He's not a mute.

Go to hell, SHIA!! Shame on you!! Time and time again Shia proves that he's such a douche

Re: Anonymouse – Fortunately for him, at that time, it did not show up any murderer nor cannibal. Otherwise, with that kind of panel "do anything to me you like", Shia could have very well end up as a happy meal for someone.

I'm disgusted by the fact that peopel are trying to blame him for this. That's like saying, "Well, how can you rape a woman if she doesn't get wet? She must have wanted it!" The body is sensitive to touch, whether you like it or not sometimes. The fact that people in here are trying to say a man can't be raped is like saying a woman can't be raped. Stop being IDIOTS!

Re: Not Believable – An involuntary hard-on is a daily occurance in any public venue. Men can get an instant stiffy just from looking at a photograph. Google 'men with hard-ons' and watch what comes up!

  22. 22

"Shia, want you know, you're not alone. I behind you Bro."

I too was assaulted by a female I know his pain. Can't post the lurid details here, but if you want to see my pain.

  23. 23

People are still doing performance art and worse, others are paying to see it? That is like so 1990s or maybe 2000 max. He should have broken his act and called for security. What an idiot.

Honest, this just just a publicity stunt. Between the Ghomeshi incident and Feminist debates he's totally exploiting what would be a personal tragedy to anyone. Im sorry but if you were sincere about how traumatic it was for you, you wouldn't use it to discredit women and the only reason why he is talking about it is because he is basically saying, men get raped too. No one denied they didn't, people are denying the fact women don't have the same rights. Stop taking away from an issue that should be replenished. As for the Bible stature of a womens' place and the origin of rule that women are inherently made for men, it also says "Women should be treated equally."

By some of the definitions in these comments, if you were in a coma in the hospital and a male nurse decided to jerk you off without your consent it would not be rape, yet I think most would agree it is. What is wrong with you people.

I agree with one point, though, he should have stopped her. It's performance art, not captivity. If you gave in to preserve the "integrity" of the art, then you implied consent.

Women can rape men, it's definitely plausible and possible and happens more than you'd think.

However, I find the fact that he'd call this rape offensive. He wasn't died down, he wasn't restrained, he EASILY could have stopped her. He didn't because of the exhibit, or whatever, and he wanted to stay in character or some shit? The fact of the matter is he could have VERY EASILY pushed her off, said no, or done something else to make sure it didn't happen. He didn't. He sat there, let her pull his pants down, let her touch his parts, let her have sex with him, and then called it rape. Despite the fact that no one really cared about his exhibit, and even if they did NO ONE would have blamed him for taking five minutes out of it to stop someone from assaulting him.

Calling this rape is offensive to people who were actually raped.

It's totally possible for a woman to rape a man, but when you put up a sign that says, " do anything you want to me" then people are going to do anything they want to you. At what point when you were being 'raped' did you decide that your performance art is not worth the rape? You didn't because you kept silent the whole time because you are the consummate actor and couldn't break your performance art to stop her. Or is it because your girlfriend found out and to cover the fact that you had sex with someone else you told her you were raped?

End of the story is this: He did it.. for an art exhibit = not traumatized or is just making this up.

    Re: Not Believable

Just an FYI, just because a man has an erection doesn't mean that he is aroused or consents to sex. An erection is the body's natural response to outside stimulation, still doesn't mean he wanted it.

    33

Re: chris – Simple. Men usually can't fight back, particularly when their assailant is a woman. Picture a scenario in which he had fought back. The woman goes into the room with him. No one sees what happens. She comes out with bruises. All she has to do is claim he hit her, unprovoked. Suddenly he has an assault charge.

    34

Re: anon4ever – Lack of consent is not consent. Just because he didn't say anything doesn't mean it was consent. Particularly in California, where they have passed a law clearly stating such.

Women orgasm during rape as well. It's involuntary, and doesn't qualify as consent… Still rape.
