Wanna find out if your favorite act made the cut?

The Grammys spent all day Friday announcing their nominees for 2015, with the exception of one major award.

But following CBS's A Very Grammy Christmas special, they finally announced who would be fighting it out for Album of the Year.

And the nominees are:

Morning Phase by Beck
Beyoncé by Beyoncé
Multiply by Ed Sheeran
In the Lonely Hour by Sam Smith
Girl by Pharrell

We just wanna say congrats to everyone nominated!

We're a little bummed that there's only one female album up for top award, but we're totally pulling for Bey!

Can it just be February 8, now please?

For me the excitement in music is about what's not on the list - postmod music - it is the new type of music , coming out of Dallas, that finally, after decades, brings some vitality and rebellion to music .

Rock has got itself into a Catch 22 that guarantees the music will get worse.

Here’s how it works. Because no one dare attack the rock band format, we are stuck with it, and within that generic structure just about all music is done in the electric guitars, bass and drums format, and just about all the music has been done, and been done better about 60 years ago.

There will not be another golden age of bands to match what we had in the 60’s, and there will not be a golden age of pioneers in rock and roll like we had in the 50’s. The formula is too restrictive now, the times have changed, the music has cloned itself out of business – so the innovation and rebellion and vitality that began it all, is no longer allowed.

The only way to break the cycle is to oppose what rock and roll has become, just like the great early rock and roll opposed big band music that had lost it's vitality.

Postmod Music- its 3 things, a revolution against what rock/rap/country/pop have become, its back to early rock and roll’s simple honesty, directness, and passion with an emphasis on melody and great SONGS, and it’s a music that includes all types of music from every place in the world.
(and It’s part of the overall art and media revolution).

Music media, if you won’t talk about the backlash against all this, we need a new media that is open enough to cover all the music news.

Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more.
It’s turned middle age and become a bore.
It’s everything it used to oppose.
Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more.

Rock and roll is corporate and dull.
It’s phony music that’s lost its soul.
It’s paint-by-number and rotten to the core.
Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more.

Rock and roll has got to go.
Base, drums, and guitars are so so-so.
Enough of the clones of clones of clones.
Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more.

Rock and roll has got to go.
Its taken 60 years but now it’s so.
It’s lost the beat and doesn’t roll.
Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more.

Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more.
    It’s a has-been and It’s your father’s olds.
It’s spirit is gone and the choir all knows
Rock and roll doesn’t rock no more.
