Ronin Shimizu's suicide last Wednesday has really affected everyone who heard about his unfortunate death.

After years of bullying that included him being harassed for being a male cheerleader, Ronin chose to end his life. And while his friends have been remembering him via social media, Ronin's family had yet to make a public statement.

That is, until now.

The 12-year-old's parents, Brandon and Danielle Shimizu, are obviously heartbroken and we cannot even imagine how they must be feeling, but they have expressed gratitude for the well-wishes sent to them from across the country:

"Ronin was one of the most loving, compassionate, empathetic, artistic and funny kids to grace this earth.

We did everything in our power to allow him to pursue his passions while protecting him from the minority that could not understand the specialness he possessed."

They sound like such amazing parents that this makes this story even more upsetting.

Rest in peace, Ronin.

If there is proof any person who participated in the bulling of this boy should be charged.

This is so awful, this whole bullying thing has been out of control for years..finally schools are calling police but it should never get to this point.
Perez—while you have your team on the web looking for stories and stuff …what about looking on social media for bullying and getting us involved in doing something to make it stop…anything at all. This poor little boy.
