Mark Wahlberg's Assault Victim SPEAKS! He Thinks The Actor Should Be Pardoned For His Crime!

Well, this is surprising!

The man who was brutally attacked by Mark Wahlberg 26 years ago just wants bygones to be bygones!

Back in 1988, the now 43-year-old Transformers star was convicted and put in jail for 45 days for attacking and using racial slurs on two Vietnamese men.

During that attack, the media had reported that Marky Mark left one of the men blind in his left eye, but fast forward many years later, and the world finds out that didn't actually happen!

The Daily Mail was able to get in contact with the assault victim, Johnny Trinh, and talked to him about that fateful day.

While the world and Mark believed Johnny became blind in his left eye after the attack, the 59-year-old revealed he was already blind in one eye after fighting against the communists in the Vietnam War!

And — get this — instead of holding a grudge against the actor for the past attack, the man supports Mark's request to be pardoned for the 1988 assault.

Johnny said:

"I was not blinded by Mark Wahlberg. He did hurt me, but my left eye was already gone. He was not responsible for that.

He was young and reckless but I forgive him now. Everyone deserves another chance. I would like to see him get a pardon. He should not have the crime hanging over him any longer."

What an admirable person.

This might be just what Mark needs to be pardoned of the past assault!

The only thing I am sure of is I love this guy. Regardless of if he is forgiving for the right reasons. I hope he would forgive even if Johnny John was the assailant and not mark mark. But there may be a celebrity component to it.

While I do believe that Wahlberh is being disingenuous when he says he is doing this as an example for kids like him, instill believe he should be pardoned.

You watch. The truth will come out. This pardon will enable hi. To do something that is beneficial to mark and mark alone. Maybe it's that cop series he wants to pitch. Maybe it enables him to invest in something etc.. . . . .but everyone deserves a second chance even for selfish reasons.

He can go out and help kids with or without a pardon……….in fact it would probably impress the kids more if he is NOT pardoned. And why should he be? Just because he's a celebrity who turned his life around? Just because he has lots of money? If you want to start issuing pardons there are a lot of people who turned their lives around who could use a pardon more than him.

I agree with both of you. He was a thug (Wahlberg), he did the crime and he was punished for it. The assault happened, the bloke was hurt and that's the end of it. No pardon should ever take place. There are consequences for our actions and we pay for them. No refunds, rich or poor.

Well he's a big man and that's nice but no fucking way. It was a racist assault and he got away easy and never apologized. $$ and fame should not buy him a pardon. His second chance was being able to work in an industry based on image with his record because no one really cares about Vietnamese people and racist thugs who attack them.
