It's Not Just The Interview Anymore! Paramount Has CANCELED Team America Screenings Too!

Many have decried the cancellation of The Interview, positing that giving in to terrorist threats will only lead to more giving in.

And it looks like those concerns are not totally unfounded.

As we reported earlier, the Austin-based Alamo Drafthouse theater chain (later more theaters followed suit) planned to replace the Christmas release of the cancelled Seth Rogen/James Franco comedy with a special anniversary run of Team America: World Police.

The screening of the (probably) more offensive movie from 10 years ago was an act of defiance that had many critics of Sony's decision applauding.

But now Paramount have followed Sony's lead.

Presumably out of fear of getting involved in the controversy — and real hacking danger — the studio has opted not to allow theaters to play Team America after all.

The Alamo Drafthouse has apologized and offered refunds to its customers that had already purchased tickets.

Is this just Paramount being prudent? Or a case of fear — and censorship — spreading?

If I had the slightest of wisdom, I would say Paramounth would have some 'skeletons in the cupboard' concerning private insiders mails… But as I,m simply retard, I wouldn't presume anything..

This is a Hollywood problem. It's called the World Wide Web for a reason so make sure you are hack-secure. U insulted a countries leader and as a result u got hacked…that's it…fix your hacking vulnerabilities and stop dragging freedom of speech and art into it. The movie is sensationalist garbage- not art. Perhaps a visit to Syria would put an embarrassing hack into context. The studios can't be arrogant and egocentric enough to risk the lives of moviegoers/force National/political/intervention.
