Many people use a variety of methods to get out of jury duty: fake an illness, wear a crazy costume, or pretend to not speak English.
Or you could do what Brad Pitt did, and be excused for being WAY too famous!!!

After the 51-year-old actor was reportedly called to jury service a week ago, officials believed his celebrity status would be too distracting and immediately dismissed him.
According to lawyer William R. Lively, the actor's notoriety was problematic for both the trial and the other jurors:
"You just can't stick Brad Pitt in a jury box and expect 11 jurors to ignore him… It's only natural that those jurors would be watching to see how Brad reacts to what's being said and that they could be influenced by his opinions once the jury goes behind closed doors to render a verdict."
This isn't the first time a famous actor was barred from doing his civic duty, either!
Last year, Tom Hanks was a jury member in a domestic violence case until he was dismissed after a member of the courtroom unlawfully approached him!
Boy, is it good to be a celebrity.
