Hopefully people listen to their statements!

The killing of two NYPD officers over the weekend was perpetrated by Ismaaiyl Brinsley, a man who said via social media that he was doing it in retribution for the lives of Eric Garner and Michael Brown.

Both Garner's and Brown's families have released statements and spoke to the media condemning Brinsley's act, as well as anyone who would think to do the same.

Eric Garner's daughter Emerald Garner even went to the memorial site for Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos on Monday, where she laid down a wreath and spoke to ABC News.

Over the weekend, Eric's mother Gwen Carr expressed her sympathy and support:

"I'm standing here in sorrow about losing these two police officers. That was definitely not our agenda. We are going in peace and anyone who is standing with us, we want you to not use Eric Garner's name for violence, because we are not about that."

Their words echoed those Michael Brown's family spoke over the weekend:

"The family of Michael Brown condemns today's senseless killing of two NYPD officers. We reject any kind of violence directed toward members of law enforcement. It cannot be tolerated. We must work together to bring peace to our communities. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the officers' families during this incredibly difficult time."

Both families have spoken out AGAINST violence in the past, in the wake of many protests and riots nationwide. Hopefully people begin to understand that killing is never never answer.

Where is Obama, where is Holder ?
The president should have made an announcement immediately
condemning the hate that is shown towards the police

These families should not be lumped together. Eric Garner's family has been honest (its NOT a race issue) and respectful and said lovely things about the 2 assassinated officers.

Michael Brown's "parents", who didnt bother to raise him and are being more like parents in his death than his life (they want their payday) are classless, society leeching thugs.

I'd be insulted if I was the GArners
