On the sunny side, Sony had a better weekend than expected.
Despite hackers leaking the film early, it seems Annie was able to surpass box office expectations with a decent $16.3 million debut!
Never underestimate the kid factor, we guess!

And speaking of childishness, Sony has some bad news as well — the celeb-slamming revealed in leaked emails just doesn't seem to stop!
The latest episode involved Adam Sandler.
It seems that after a meeting in which the Happy Gilmore star demanded that Sony make his $200 million Candyland film, Columbia Pictures exec Hannah Minghella sent an email to Amy Pascal and others, saying:
"Adam is an a**hole, and this is more his fault than anyone's, but what we did was not communicate with each other and make assumptions."
Later, Pascal herself wrote about another incident in which Adam tried to secure a $100k payday for Hotel Transylvania producing partner (and Grandma's Boy star) Allen Covert.
Sony rejected the payment, saying they were at their producer fee limit. But Pascal responded to the request with some pretty personal words. She wrote:
"100 percent . . . They are such a**holes"
We're guessing this won't be the end of Sony's trouble with leaked emails. It seems they made a real habit of trash talking their stars.
We just hope we never see any emails slamming little Quvenzhané Wallis!
