Tim League, founder of the Alamo Drafthouse theater chain, tweeted the news on Tuesday morning that Sony would indeed be allowing theaters to show the film on Christmas Day!

He wrote:

We guess having the President of the United States in your corner helps when making decisions like that!

We don't yet know which theaters will agree to show the film, but we're guessing it's the independently owned theaters that will be the first to jump on the opportunity!

Make sure to check with your local cinemas! If not, it looks like Sony is also releasing the film On Demand!

Michael Lynton, chairman and CEO of Sony Entertainment, said:

"We have never given up on releasing 'The Interview' and we're excited our movie will be in a number of theaters on Christmas Day. At the same time, we are continuing our efforts to secure more platforms and more theaters so that this movie reaches the largest possible audience."

Will U see the film on Christmas Day??

Because nothing spells out Christ, or the spirit of charity, like pure filth. Count me out. You couldn't pay me to see either of their films, and this one, in particular.

I don't think having the president on their side had anything to do with this. Who would want a flip flopper and non American supporter on their side.

Sony just COULD NOT let all that free publicity go to waste. MONEY TALKS!

Honestly, I think Sony was afraid of Kim. I know I’ll get blasted for this comment, but I think the weakness of the Obama administration was being exploited by Kim. Even if NK carried out an attack, would Obama retaliate? I wanted President Obama to be successful. However, he is so incredibly weak, and empty. He has screwed up all the huge gains in Iraq and let ISIS and the Taliban run amok in the Middle East.

Internationally and domestically he is in over his head. He ruined health insurance. My health insurance is up to $450/month from just $200/month. My car insurance is currently only $25/month (from Insurance Panda) and life insurance is only $15/month (from Life Ant)…both private enterprise… but who knows when Obama will try to step in and socialize that?

I may not agree with the film but we can't start losing our freedoms. If the fat guy wants to attack us then let him face the consequences.

Sure , why not? They have this turd of a movie so overhyped now that something that should have gone straight to DVD is now going to make a bundle of money. Sony got their money's worth out of that BS story.

Re: fosemuz – This isn't a personal attack on you - but anyone can get dirt cheap insurance on anything. Its when you go to collect on a claim, you will find out that your cut rate policies cover little or nothing. The only reason ObamaCare costs more than your old insurance is because it had to meet a minimum standard - which your old insurance probably didn't. It will take a few years to work the kinks out of a huge new program, but it is certainly better than what was there before - nothing.

No, I'd rather spend my Christmas with my family. I'll wait until it comes on cable, then I'll watch it.
