Melissa Rivers' Christmas Wish Will Bring You To Tears

| Filed under: Sad SadJoan RiversMelissa Rivers

We're absolutely heartbroken for Melissa Rivers and her adorable son, Cooper Endicott.

As Melissa left Craig's in West Hollywood on Wednesday night, a photog asked the 46-year-old what she wanted for Christmas.

The downtrodden Rivers simply replied:

"I want my son to laugh again."

So. unbelievably. sad.

It's no secret that 13-year-old Coop was VERY close to his grandmother Joan Rivers, so we can't even begin to imagine what he's going through this holiday season.

While Cooper will never have his grandma back, we hope he finds some solace in all of the wonderful memories they shared together.

Check out a heartwarming 2013 holiday snap of the fam (below)!

How adorable.

We extend our most heartfelt sympathies to Melissa and Cooper during this difficult time.

Her mother was Jewish, so she likely is too; so why would the photog ask her what she wants for Christmas, anyway? See the Jewish candle (menorah) in front of them…Chanukkah, maybe. Kids pick up on a parents mood too. They'll both laugh eventually.

Really feel sorry for him, hope he feels a bit better after the holidays. My friend and neighbor also lost her mother 3 months ago, Christmas and other holidays are very tough the first time around.

I will always miss Joan. There was no one like her, and no one any funnier.
