Merry Christmas, From Our Family To Yours!

What a gift it is for us to experience the holidays through the joy and wonder of a child!

So much excitement, wonder and LOVE!

Mr. J.R. Hilton got a mega deluxe kitchen set for Christmas this year. Imaginative play is great for brain development!!!

He also got LOVED it!!!

He also got some trucks and cars and a bunch of other really cool things. We may give him one or two more over the next few days, but the rest will be tucked away in Perez's room and we will go back to our schedule of giving him one present every single week (except for his birthday and Christmas, when he can have a couple or a few).

Our thinking: as he gets older we can use the weekly gift as a way to emphasize the importance of work and the extra importance of very hard work. If he's good and works hard, he gets his gift. If he goes above and beyond, he can get two! And, though we hope not, there may be some weeks he gets no gift at all!

But, as for Christmas, he literally has not stopped playing with his kitchen set all day!!!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!

Much MUCH love!

Hi Perez, no! Don't do the whole carrot trick (if he does it, i'll give him smgth back). Children are given 'presents' just because they are ready to play with them, because it's part of their development (don't worry, you will know what he likes best, he'll tell you). Then it's your job to take the activity to the next level (it's a build up thing), seeing your child play, develop is the best reward you can get. Think simple now but remember it's a build up thing (that requires much more commitment than the whole reward system). Children get many gifts for Christmas because it is part of the excitment (it's a special adrenaline), so give him all of his Christmas présents and then get him the things he needs as he goes along…that's much smarter. Merry Christmas to jr, perez and the family.

Just let him know he is loved for being himself, not for what he does or loved less for not doing as well. We all have ups and downs. Your good intentions are centering on a prize rather than self pride in a good job. It will get harder when he's 16 and expecting a Bently from you. It's not about the stuff. The best thing to give him is self confidence.

    Una cocina para un niño?????

    A kitchen for a boy?

LET HIM DECIDE what he wants. You could help on the development of his brain with OTHER present, NOT a kitchen. HELLO????

Best present everyday is love! You don't have to make it materialistic. That will get boring unlike love.

What a cute kitchen setup! Now you can train your son to make you breakfast. ;) Shame on the people classifying this as a girl's toy, not to mention most chefs are male! Your son is obviously enjoying himself and that is what matters!
I have a 6+ month baby boy and I bought a little doll that he took to in the store. So, what of it? It's important their options be well rounded. Children are individuals, not clay, and a parents' job is to guide and love them.

when I was younger, I've play a lot with my sister and her dolls.. Now, whenever I see a cock picture on the net, I crave to suck on it…
