Kaley Cuoco Clarifies Her Recent Anti-Feminism Comments — But She STILL Isn't Categorizing Herself As A Feminist!

It's safe to say Kaley Cuoco didn't quite end 2014 on the right foot…

Her comments of anti-feminism in a recent Redbook spread certainly ruffled the feathers of many, and now, the actress is trying to defend her words!

Keyword: trying.

After facing backlash for the quotes in the mag, the Big Bang Theory star took to her Instagram to try and set the record straight, claiming she was taken out of context.

Here's what Kaley had to say:

"In my Redbook article ,some people have taken offense to my comments regarding feminism- if any of you are In the "biz" you are well aware of how words can be taken out of context. I'm completely blessed and grateful that strong women have paved the way for my success along with many others. I apologize if anyone was offended. Anyone that truly knows me, knows my heart and knows what I meant."

Ryan Sweeting's wifey's words in her Redbook interview were pretty plain and simple, what was there to be misconstrued?

The 29-year-old said she's not a feminist, loves feeling like a housewife, and even said:

"I was never that feminist girl demanding equality, but maybe that's because I've never really faced inequality."

How can that be taken out of context when that's exactly what she said??

What are your thoughts on this?! SOUND OFF in the comments (below)!

I know exactly what she means and i feel the exact same way . Seriously you people need to chill ..

That is alright to embrace herself as the woman that she feels that she is. Their marriage is their own to love and grow with it.

Im confused as to why her comment led to so many bad feelings. Everyone has a different life and not everyone faces the same challenges. Okay so she didnt have to deal with sexism, and thats great, why be mad for that?

I think people are reading too much into into this and trying to make something out if nothing. She didn't say anything offensive, she just gave an honest answer to a simple question.

  6. 6

She might not have felt inequality, but surely she can look around her and see it is everywhere. Violence against women is huge. Women are portrayed for their sexuality more than their talents. Open your eyes Kaley - it's all right in front of you.

  7. 7

She should totally believe and do whatever she thinks is good for her. However, I do not believe she has never faced some form of inequality or inferiority.

Re: It's Jess - I think a lot of young women don't even recognize inequality when they see it. They have had zero education on the women's movement - it's sad.

Re: rosebud99 – They don't recognize it because it doesn't happen.
"Feminists" like to think they are fighting some battle from their computer screens just to get a false sense of accomplishment. It's time to wake up.

you guys need to chill, we are al entitled to our own opinions and just because someone does not feel thesame way you do does not mean that they cant be entitled to their own opinions and discussing this any further would put her under pressure which is also wrong, i am a feminist hence i wont deny my fellow women the right to have an opinion or express theirselves

Re: Jp – Yeah - and there is no racism either. (rolls eyes)

girls now a days don't realize that FEMINISM is what let them never face inequality. if you aren't a feminist then you should probably never vote, seeing as thats what feminism gave you. You have a right to not want to be a feminist and not want women to be equal too. its a free country. you should just have your equal rights stripped so you know what that really means.

of course she has "faced inequality" — cute girls have it easier in life than ugly ones do. She felt inferior because of her "small" breasts so enlarged them. Anyway, didn't she more or less say she cared only about HER treatment in the world? "I've never cared about rights for blacks because I've never been black" is sort of analogous, eh? Feminism is about equal pay, too. But she is a modern creature, and many 20-somethings associate feminism with a radical kind of negativity, rather than simply activism for parity.

its fairly clear what she was saying. There is not need for her to be given a hard time for it. There are too many people that twist the words of anyone who doesn't just say everyone should be a feminist.
I think all people and animals should be treated well and I'd rather be considered a decen human being than a feminist.

    Context=/=Quote

Context involves the rest of the conversation, the tone, and the questions asked… Taking a quote from an interview without at LEAST the question is .. bingo!!! taking something out of it's context. For some reason a lot of journalists especially the shitty tabloid ones confuse the words quote and context, pretty amateur.

When she realizes that she's paid less than a man doing the same job, she'll know what inequality is. Already she's felt the need to make her breasts larger but doesn't say why. I predict she regret saying these words.

Actually, feminism has allowed idiots like her to be accepted and even widely quoted. Years ago, they would have been laughed out of the business.

It doesn't make sense, that Kaley would have orchestrated this. She just needs a PR committee to handle the Press. She at the top of her profession. A movie is frosting on the cake. The brand Is Penny, 20 years in the profession got her there. This is a joke of an issue! Proud to be a fan!

Wow, most of these comments disappoint me! If most of you guys had been around when we needed feminism the most us ladies still wouldn't be able to vote. Feminism is about equal rights for women and men so for her to sit there and say that she's not a feminist means that she's ok with being treated like a second class citizen. I always thought she had fallen off her rocker after dating superman and this just confirms that to me.

Re: Susan B Anithony lol – If that is what you believe, then it is therefore unfortunately the proof you have not understood the meaning of her words.
It was obvious she has not spoken against feminism and its principles !
Unfortunately for all of us, I do think you are the kind of person who creates conflicts to better go complain after if there is retort!
Ultimately, all that this is very disappointing, because as a zealous ideologue, you are hurting more cause than otherwise.

Because she's a woman, there's no way she's not a feminist at all. I think she just means she's not a RADICAL feminist. She probably means she has not experienced blatant inequality as a woman.

I don't think she needs to apologize for anything she said, so she likes to take care of her man and can cook and brings home a fat check. I think that's great! More women should be like that. It's also obvious she has time to go to the gym cuz she looks amazing. Stop making a big deal out of something more women need to do.

Loved the interview. I found it refreshing and applaud that she thinks about the financial security of her family and future children. I read nothing offensive to warrant the earlier reactions.
