CORRECTION: ABC News reports that the youngest suspect, 18-year-old Hamyd Mourad, surrendered and is in custody. The other two suspects, Said & Cherif Kouachi, are still at large.

UPDATE: According to two senior-level anti-terrorism officials, 18-year-old Hamyd Mourad was killed in a police raid, while the two brothers, Said & Cherif Kouachi, have been taken into custody.

We have some news regarding the attack on Paris' Charlie Hebdo office on Wednesday morning.

While the three gunman are still on the loose, France's top security officials have released the identities of the killers, and are now closer than ever to capturing them.

Two of the shooters are thought to be brothers from France named Said Kouachi and Cherif Kouachi, both in their early 30s. An 18-year-old named Hamyd Mourad is suspected to be the third shooter, but his nationality is still unclear.

After raising the country's security alert to its highest degree, it has been confirmed that the shooters are connected to a terrorist network based out of Yemen and that the shooting was in response to the magazine's many depictions of the Prophet Muhammad.

Among the 12 killed in the shooting include, by pen-name, Charlie editor Charb as well as cartoonists Cabu, Tignous, and Wolinski.

Vigils for the slain have popped up around the world, most notably in Trafalgar Square, London as well as the entirety of France.

Sources??? No major news agency is reporting that there has been an arrest or death. I highly doubt any high ranking officials is going to use your gossip site to break news of this level.

MSNBC is reporting the story now. Cnn has yet to confirm the reports. They (cnn) are still waiting for French police to confirm that the said events have taken place.

MSNBC's website has also published the report. Please keep in mind folks that the French government knew the names of the gunmen hours before they released the names to the public. Why? I have no idea but these are the facts according to major news outlets.

Re: adg100 – Since the main suspect has already served an conviction for terrorism i hardly think you should be overly abundant in giving praise to the French police.

Fact of the matter is the USA lawdepartments have done a pretty good job preventing terrorist attacks.

And this comment is coming from someone who is living in Europe.
