He's going to put on an iron shirt, and chase this new track right out of Earth!
Eddie Murphy is known mostly for his comedic chops although he's been a bit of a recluse these days, however Eddie is planning on returning to the limelight.
The music limelight!
Eddie Murphy has ventured into the music waters before with his favorite eighties track Party All the Time and his reggae infused song with Snoop Lion called Red Light.
However this new track seems to be all Eddie all the time and will be a Rastafarian song!
The song is titled Oh Jah Jah and will be available on iTunes on January 27th.
"The same way you can see me sit at a table in a movie and be six different people, when I'm in the studio, I can do that, too. I can go right now and put out a country album. Or jazz."
And ultimately his main wish of life is go back on tour and be a standup comedian AND a musician in the same show! He said in an interview:
"If I came back and did standup again, I can't just be like the other standup comics. To have a real hot band play some tracks for about 40 minutes, the curtain drops and then you do an hour of jokes? That's the ultimate vision."
Wow that would be utterly amazing to hear Eddie set up a show with his music, and then finish it off with his comedic skills!
That would be a dream come true for him and for us!
His new song is pretty darn good on its own though, so we definitely recommend taking a listen to this roots rock rebel version of Eddie Murphy!
