The idea of a Beetlejuice sequel has been kicking around for 25 years.
Part 2 may be closer than ever before, but the details are fuzzier than ever! We mean, we KNOW they aren't using that Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian idea!

Well, screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith spilled just a little bit o' juice on Beetlejuice 2 recently.
First, he confirmed this will in no way be a reboot. It's an honest-to-goodness sequel set in the modern day.
Second, it will definitely contain Golden Globe award winner Michael Keaton.
Da doi! It's not a Beetlejuice movie without Betelgeuse himself! Give us something NEW!
Well, here's something: the Birdman star probably won't be the film's lead!

Yep, just like in the first movie, where the title character doesn't show up until halfway through the film, this will be the story of other folks, most likely the recently deceased, in whose afterlives Betelgeuse will play a small but scene-stealing part!
Sounds good to us! Just as long as he returns at some point to reclaim those stripes from Robin Thicke.
