Cadbury 'Secretly' Changes Creme Egg Recipe, Ruining Perfection And Angering Trillions Of People

Kraft Foods is a brand many people know and love. They're the world leader in Sponge Bob-shaped mac and cheese and they're just wonderful.

Though now Kraft is under fire for altering the recipe of one of its acquired company's best selling products!

They've changed the chocolate in Cadbury Creme Eggs!!

The worst part is they basically did it in secret!

Cadbury Eggs are no longer made with Dairy Milk shells but are now made from a standard cocoa mix chocolate.

A spokesman for Kraft said:

"It's no longer Dairy Milk. It's similar, but not exactly Diary Milk. We tested the new one with consumers. It was found to be the best one for the Creme Egg, which is why we've used it this year.

The Creme Egg has never been called the Cadbury's Dairy Milk Creme Egg. We have never played on the fact that Dairy Milk chocolate was used."

Yeah, but that doesn't matter. The whole point is now the chocolate tastes "cheap" according to some Creme egg enthusiasts.

We can only assume they're using cheaper chocolate to cut costs.

Why else wouldn't they celebrate their "superior new flavor!" or something like that, hmm??

Because they probably know it's cheap tasting and they've ruined a classic.

Bad news for fans!

No one should buy them until they go back to the original Cadbury creme egg, I know I won't.

If it ain't broke, why fix it? Is it that bit that leaks out onto the foil? Who cares.
I don't do cheap chocolate. Maybe just change the packaging, or make it a bit thicker for another dime so it doesn't leak; or have one more assembly step to cover the pin hole if there is one causing the leak. It has to be cadbury dairy milk chocolate for me.

I work for Kraft and we no longer own Cadbury, they are owned by Mondelez International. The reason I know is because my husband works for Mondelez. Just FYI. :)

These things gross me out. They are so disgusting. If I see someone eating one my knees buckle!

We are the WalMart nation - we value cheap over quality if it sells for a penny less.

I'm glad another person from Kraft straightened this out!

    Mondelez is completely different!

The change however won’t impact the recipe of Creme Eggs in the U.S. where the Hershey Company holds the license to manufacture Cadbury’s chocolate products. “The announcement made today does not affect our product,” Hershey’s spokeswoman Anna Lingeris said in an interview. “No changes have been made to the Cadbury Creme Egg product available in the U.S."

How do you eat yours? Errrrmmm… I don't now that you've changed the recipe. Spoiled all upcoming easters for me.

Oh nooooooooooooooo! Although TBH…my roommate from Ireland years ago said Cadbury chocolate in general wasn't like the "actual" Cadbury. Wish I'd had the opportunity to try the real deal!

Am I the only one that actually likes the new version of the Creme Egg? :/
