Former Biggest Loser Contestant Reveals The Mental & Physical Abuse She Went Through On The Show

This doesn't sound like a healthy situation at all!

Kai Hibbard lost 121lbs while on The Biggest Loser in 2006, but the mental and physical abuse she says she went through is still haunting her to this day!

The former contestant shared some scary info in an interview with the New York Post, where Kai revealed that she went through such hard physical rigors on the show that her hair started falling out, and her period stopped. She was also only sleeping three hours a night. Years later, she's still dealing with these problems and Thyroid issues as well.

That's not where this stops though. Once on the ranch, contestants work out five to six hours a day right away. Kai confessed:

"My feet were bleeding through my shoes for the first three weeks."

But the mental abuse is what really makes her upset:

"They would say things to contestants like, ‘You're going to die before your children grow up.' ‘You're going to die, just like your mother.' ‘We've picked out your fat-person coffin' — that was in a text message… They'd get a sick pleasure out of it. They'd say, ‘It's because you're fat. Look at all the fat you have on you.' And that was our fault, so this was our punishment… I know that one of the contestants' children became very ill and was in the ICU. He was allowed to talk to his family, but he didn't want to leave, because the show would have been done with him."

So, so sad. These people are trying to change their lives for the better, but they're met with these new obstacles!

Overall, Kai called it a "fat-shaming disaster," but NBC thinks differently. They said in a statement:

"Our contestants are closely monitored and medically supervised. The consistent Biggest Loser health transformations of over 300 contestants through 16 seasons of the program speak for themselves."

This isn't the first time that Kai has talked about the falsities of the show. Back in 2010, she did another interview talking about what she went through while filming (below). We wonder if more people will say similar things now

Just watching the cherry picked scenes, it looks unhealthy.

Did she never watch the show before she signed up? It's not like this was the first season. She knew what she was signing up for.

No one else has said sh*t about being in this show, they are all grateful for losing weight.

The biggest losers are the people who think this is good TV. Creating new "reality TV" celebrities via emotional and physical abuse. To quote John Wayne, "Life is tough, but it's tougher if you’re stupid.
