So unless you are Trump himself, watch and enjoy the roasting (above)!
What?! Say it isn't so!
A recent settlement between Let's Buy British Imports, or L.B.B., and Hershey's demanded that the British confectioner stop selling their wares in America, because Hershey's needs to protect their brand.
So, if you're a fan of the British candies Toffee Crisps and Yorkie bars, you're out of luck because they too-closely resemble Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and York peppermint patties. Oh, and the KitKats made in the UK will obviously not be making it here either.
Actually this may be the beginning of a good thing though!
The reason people love British candy more than American is because they use higher quality ingredients. For example, in the British Cadbury's Dairy Milk bar, the first ingredient is milk, whereas in America, it is sugar. Also, British candies use vegetable fats to get their smooth texture, but American chocolates use PGPR and soy lecithin, which give the candy a longer shelf life, but make it less delicious.
So, maybe since people can't get British candy anymore, they'll want America to step its chocolate game up!
We're not going to hold our breath, though… but there's no harm in staying optimistic, right???
