And now, more news about this divorce is coming to light from both camps.

The most powerful man in comic book movies has spoken!
And he had some very passionate things to say!
An interview with Avengers director Joss Whedon recently came out and in it the director talked openly about the lack of female superheroes in movies and how that should be changed!
The interview took place before the announcement of the film Wonder Woman, however, that's just ONE female superhero movie compared to what seems like hundreds of male superhero ones!
"You hear 'Oh, [female superheroes] don't work because of these two bad ones that were made eight years ago', there's always an excuse."
Joss also points to the film franchise The Hunger Games as proof that movies with strong female protagonists can in fact succeed!
"Hunger Games is a different structure and aesthetic to a certain extent, but these narratives where people are bigger than life and they're in these terrible, heightened circumstances, it's all part of the same genre. Marvel is in a position of making a statement simply by making [a female-led] movie, which I think would be a good thing to do. But it has to be a good movie, it has to be a good character, and most of the best characters in Marvel are owned by Fox, let's face it!"
We definitely think he's made the best points on this argument so far!
If it's clear a female superhero movie can brings audiences to the theater, which it is in fact clear, then why wouldn't studio executives be on board with such an idea?!
We're not even sure why this is a debate at this point. There have so many good female superheroes recently — including Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow — and we really want to see more stories devoted entirely to superhero ladies!
Let's make this happen!
