Now this is some wonderful news!
The whole world is waiting in anticipation for the release of Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens, but there is more than just one movie on the horizon!
And now we're hearing about the two sequels to the seventh episode in this storied franchise.
Disney CEO Bob Iger was actually the one who announced the news about Star Wars: Episode VIII and Star Wars: Episode IX and it seems like they'll be coming to theaters in December of 2017 and December of 2019 respectively!

Here's what Bob said:
"As one of the few people allowed to visit the set during filming….and one of the fewer who's seen most of the footage…I can assure the millions of Star Wars fans who have spent the last decade hoping for a new movie this one will be worth the wait. And it's only the beginning of a new era of exceptional Star Wars storytelling; next year we'll release our first standalone movie based on these characters, followed by Star Wars: Episode VIII in 2017, and we'll finish this trilogy with Episode IX in 2019."
We're excited to hear there will only be a two year wait between each film! Though, we hope that's enough time for the people behind these movies to make them truly spectacular!
Please don't mess this up, Disney! You're the new hope to make this future trilogy great!
Well, actually we guess they're the only hope since they bought all the rights, but new hope kind of fits with the first movie's title so…
Anyway, may the force be with everyone and anyone involved in these anticipated films!
