As Bruce Jenner's journey to womanhood unfolds in the public eye, FOX's Glee is also addressing transgender issues.
On the show, Coach Beiste — played by actress Dot-Marie Jones — is revealed to have gender dysphoria and is transitioning to a man.
PerezHilton.com has an exclusive photo of Coach Beiste's new look, which will debut on the February 13 episode entitled Transitions.
Jones — who is openly gay but not transgender in real life — admits she was initially apprehensive about the storyline. However, after her character's announcement was made, she received an outpouring of support and appreciation:
"I had thousands of Tweets from people. I was crying. "Members of the transgender community were saying, 'I never thought I'd see myself on TV. You have no idea what this means to me. Now, maybe people will get it.'"
Transgender characters have been featured prominently on shows like Orange is the New Black and Transparent, both of which have received top honors this awards season.

Jones has received three Emmy nominations for her portrayal of Coach Beiste. Perhaps this storyline will nab her a fourth!
