Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance is one of the most critically acclaimed films in recent years.
The sleeper hit has earned director Alejandro González Iñárritu and several of its stars Oscar nominations; it's even considered one of the favorites for Best Picture.

But no work of art is created fully formed. Actors need multiple takes, films need editing, scripts need rewrites.
In fact, Iñárritu recently mentioned a scrapped alternate ending for the film that was so bad he didn't even want to describe it!
But co-writer Alex Dinelaris must not have gotten the memo, because he spilled the whole thing on The Q&A Podcast!
And now we REALLY wish we had it as a DVD extra — we mean, it involved Johnny Depp! Alex revealed:
"We had one other ending, that was satirical… The camera prowled like it did the whole film, went backstage through the halls we've seen the whole time.
We'd get to the dressing room where literally Johnny Depp would be sitting looking in the mirror, putting on his Riggan Thomson wig, and then the poster of Pirates of the Caribbean 5 would be in the back.
In Jack Sparrow's voice, 'What the f**k are we doing here, mate?' And [it] was going to be the satire of the endless loop of that."
Sure it's not as personal and triumphant and also possibly completely whacked out as the ending that survived. But MAN would we love to see that!
Can you film deleted scenes after the fact? LOLz!
