Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin announced their separation in March 2014, using the highly controversial term "conscious uncoupling" to describe the process of their breakup.
However, according to the March issue of Marie Claire Australia, their fall out actually happened two years prior!
And the person who helped the 42-year-old during this difficult time was none other than her Mortdecai co-star Johnny Depp!
"Nobody knew what Chris and I had been going through, so I didn't say, ‘Hey, this is what's happening,' but I did ask him mostly children-centric questions, like, ‘How is it on them?' and ‘How did you do it?'"
The Oscar winner admits that the split hit her pretty hard as it wasn't what she was anticipating.
"It's very sad. You have an expectation of your life, and it's sad to change that expectation."
However, G and the Coldplay front man have worked hard to stay friends for the sake of their children — Apple, 10 and Moses, 8.
And in regards to the phrase "conscious uncoupling?" Blythe Danner's daughter gives you complete permission to make jokes at its expense:
"OK, you can make fun of the term or whatever. I didn't invent it."
