Many felt the gesture was highly awkward and inappropriate, and the situation only escalated when during the ceremony, the Grease star caressed co-presenter Idina Menzel's face.
Now ScarJo is finally address the viral controversy.
Regarding Travolta, who was her co-star in the film A Love Song for Bobby Long:
"There is nothing strange, creepy or inappropriate about John Travolta."
In fact, the 30-year-old even explains that the unnecessary hooplah was caused by a mistimed photo op.
"The image that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome… That still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live. Yet another way we are misguided, misinformed and sensationalized by the 24-hour news cycle. I haven't seen John in some years and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by him."
The case of John Travolta's red carpet kiss has been solved!
