Demi Lovato used the benefit concert she threw Wednesday night in Los Angeles as an opportunity to bravely share how affected she was by her father's tragic death last year and what she's doing to make meaning of his passing.
The singer and activist was raising funds for her Lovato Scholarship, which offers treatment to those in need of recovery who can't afford the large expense.
Like she herself suffered, Demi's father had mental health and addiction issues and he was estranged from her at the time of his death.
Lovato shared that she recently found a letter she wrote when she celebrated her 6 months of sobriety, almost three years ago, and she reveals what the content of that letter said. Plus, she confesses that her song Nightingale has turned into a remembrance of her dad.
