The 25-year-old was going through an intense period of emotional turmoil as his girlfriend is currently in a medically induced coma after being found unresponsive in her bathtub.

Well it turns out getting help was indeed the right decision.

According to a close source:

"Nick is responding well to rehab treatment with no relapses. The quiet time is good for him. He needed it."

During the time of his intervention, Whitney Houston's adopted son was coping with stress through the use of substances. Because of his many addictions, the insider believes it is best he stay in an environment, surrounded by medical professionals.

"Nick is a special person with many temptations and needs to be in a place where he can continue to heal and grow. He should stay for a long time – as long as he will allow."

In fact, the source believes it it best that Gordon continue his healing process by staying away from the media's lens.

"The best thing for Nick is that he is out of the way, out of the limelight. This way he can continue the process to improve himself and move forward in a better life. It is a blessing that he is in rehab."

We're extremely happy that Nick is doing well, and we wish him the best with his recovery.
