Do we smell a Twitter feud brewing?
Though, on the surface, it seems the popular producer is simply complimenting RiRi — it could also be intentional shade thrown at Leona Lewis!
What the what?!?
The X Factor star was the original recording artist for the 2011 hit. However, the Scottish DJ was unhappy with Leona's performance and recorded the song with RiRi instead.
The songwriter originally stated:
"They're very different because she sings it dead softly, you know, how Leona sings. It's more like an X Factor ballad."
Though we aren't 100% certain this tweet was meant ruffle Leona's feathers, her fans certainly think it's a dig! At the time, Leona was vehement that her version of the track was better. We have our doubts, but we'll never know till we hear it! LOLz!
Regardless, we hope this drama can be water under the bridge for the musicians. Leona, you just signed a new deal with Def Jam — and Calvin aren't you too busy dating Taylor Swift to be getting into Twitter feuds?
Let's just hug, kiss, and release Leona's version of the track? Yes, no — maybe?
