According to the insider, the two-hour special will have Bruce speaking about his reported transition from male to female. However, that's just a tiny part of a larger plan for the former Olympian.
The insider said the special is the kickoff for Bruiser to:
"reintroduce himself to society as a woman. Bruce is very proud and excited."
That apparently has been the plan for a while. In the recent promo for the 20/20 special, Bruce is heard telling Diane:
"My whole life has been getting me ready for this."
And the source confirms that. They told Us Weekly:
"Bruce told Diane he has wanted to be a woman for as far back as he can remember. He always felt it and kept burying it."
As for why the 65-year-old decided to do the interview with the TV journalist, the insider revealed Bruce chose Diane:
"because he knew she would work with him to present his journey tastefully. He felt safe and in control."
We're so glad Bruce was able to find someone who he could trust and work with.
It's only a matter of hours before the world will finally know what exactly Bruce has been going through his whole life.
