It's a boy!
Sherri Shepherd has finally commented on the courtroom drama that has pushed her and her family into the spotlight these past months.
Last week, the TV personality was ruled the legal mother of Lamar Sally Jr. — who was born via surrogacy with an egg donor.
Though she was initially involved in the surrogacy process, Miz Shepherd had a change of heart in becoming the mother to the baby after she and ex-husband, Lamar Sally, decided to part ways.
Initially, the former View host had no comment — but while promoting her new film Woodlawn, she seemed more keen to talk.
"Under the circumstances I'm doing really, really extremely well. I don't care what I go through, nothing gets me down. You know me. I will smile my way through anything. I believe smiling and laughter is the best medicine."
The typically upbeat personality alluded that the legal battle has been emotionally challenging for her.
"Life is difficult. So you just hang tough and you keep going. People who know me, my character, my integrity — I feel it speaks for itself."
What shocked us most about the interview was that she didn't have anything to say about little Lamar Jr.!
She did state:
"I feel like everything always works out in the end. I'm a big believer that everything always works out in the end. Everybody has their challenges. So right now, it's my challenge."
Not really a mother of the year statement — but you're trying Sherri! We just hope you embrace your little boy into your family with open arms.
