Over a year ago, Pixar spilled the animated beans that there was an Incredibles sequel in the pipeline.
But how far away is it?? Director Brad Bird finally has good news for us!

The creator of the original superhero family film — whose second live-action feature Tomorrowland comes out May 22nd — says The Incredibles 2 will be his NEXT PROJECT!
The only thing that could keep him from returning the Parr family to the big screen? Star Wars!
Just like he did with Mission Impossible, Brad could be following J.J. Abrams as the next director to helm one of the new films.
In fact, he was approached by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy to take on Episode VII but had to back out to film Tomorrowland!
But will he take that first step into a larger world? He says:
"Well Kathy and I have discussed the possibility of — I mean she's basically saying this is a very large sandbox and other people can play in it. I was particularly attracted to the idea of picking up and — J.J. [Abrams] got very excited about the notion of shaping the next trilogy, and that idea was interesting to me too. But I kind of — I'm writing a sequel to The Incredibles and I can't think too much farther beyond that."
Yay! As much as we'd love to see what Brad can do with a lightsaber, NO ONE else can make an Incredibles 2!
