Back in 2008, Mad Max director George Miller was developing a Justice League movie with Warner Brothers studios — but the project was tragically scrapped because… Hollywood!
The film titled Justice League Mortal was set to star Armie Hammer as Batman, DJ Cotrona as Superman and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman!
But director Ryan Unicomb is exploring the aborted production a little closer in hopes to find out why the film never made it to shooting!

Unicomb's explains how doc is inspired from the similar documentary The Death of Superman Lives, which explored Tim Burton's scrapped Superman film.
The Aussie director had this to say about his project:
"We wanted to get the story out there to help us gauge interest. I have always been fascinated with the project, which would be in the same vein as Jodorowsky's Dune and this year's The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?."
Warner Bros has announced a new Justice League movie will be released in 2017, after Marvel dominated the big screen with ensemble casts for the past several years.
Hopefully Unicomb's documentary gives some insight as to why executives would scrap a comic book hero ensemble film that on paper seems like it would be box office gold!
Until then, we can always re-watch Avengers.
