And whether it's celebrity reactions to Jenner's transition, or family fallout from the intense feature story, interest hasn't slowed down yet on this important moment in transgender history!

But one thing does remain unanswered — how did Caitlyn pick her name?
Sure, we already know why she chose to break family tradition and spell it with a "C" rather than a "K," but why did she choose the name Caitlyn in the first place?
Speaking with VF, Caitlyn was forthright about her thought process:
"It's one of the hardest things in life — choosing your own name."
One of her inspirations, interestingly enough, was the Miss America pageant, which she'd watch while figuring out which names she liked among contestants.
After having Heather, Cathy, and of course Caitlyn resonate with her, Jenner's assistant one day randomly suggested how much she liked the name Caitlyn, herself!
The coincidence became history, and Caitlyn came out to the world!
