Brad Pitt's new movie has been acquired by Netflix.

This is HUGE for Netflix.

The video streaming service snagged the rights to distribute Brad Pitt's new movie War Machine, making it the biggest film the streaming service has ever acquired!

The film is a satirical comedy, starring Brad as a military general, based on real-life General Stanley McChrystal, who was sent out to win the war in Afghanistan.

Netflix will be working with the actor's production company, Plan B, to produce the film based on the late Michael Hastings' book The Operators: The Wild And Terrifying Inside Story Of America's War In Afghanistan, which follows Gen. Stanley while he wheels and deals with wartime politics and even goes as far as talking crap about the White House!

The streaming site invested about $30 million in this project, but it seems the money could be totally worth it.

This is the first movie they've acquired with such a huge A-lister. They'll also be teaming up with producers Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, who have both worked on 12 Years A Slave AND Selma.

Brad seems like he's looking forward to this deal! He said in a statement:

"We are so excited to be a part of the inspiring commitment by Netflix to produce cutting-edge content and to deliver it to a global audience."

The flick will be available on Netflix and in some theaters in 2016.
