Last week, Rumer Willis penned a beautifully-written essay for Glamour in which she detailed her own personal struggle with online bullying, and how she was able to overcome her battles with negative body image to become the confident young woman she is today.
In fact, the Jobs star elaborated on his comment in a follow-up response to a fan.
"It's such an empowering thing to see a woman standing up for other women and young girls. She's going against the grain and that's exactly what needs to be done. She's helping other girls realize that they don't need validation from others- they are their own beautiful, with their own confidence."
In Willis' essay, the 26-year-old urges society to become more compassionate towards one another.
"What it comes down to is this: We all need to stop bullying ourselves and being cruel to other women. Attacking one another instead of supporting one another has become the norm. Life's hard enough as it is. Let's find strength in the fact that we're different and unique."
