This probably isn't what she had in mind when she was filming Season Two.
Back in 2013, Leah Remini had a very public falling out with the Church of Scientology.
Having been raised a Scientologist, it was a bit of a shock when she decided she no longer wanted to be associated with the organization, despite knowing what ramifications would come along with her exit.
Now, two years later, Leah is busy promoting her new season of Leah Remini: It's All Relative on TLC, and we finally learned that her reason for leaving was to make sure her daughter Sophia never had to feel pressured to cut ties with her family.
Well, this admission obviously didn't sit well with the Church, because a spokesperson has issued a statement about their former member, saying:
"It comes as no surprise that someone as self-absorbed as Leah Remini with an insatiable craving for attention would exploit her former religion as a publicity stunt in a pathetic attempt to get ratings for her cable show and seem relevant again. She is rewriting history and omits that she was participating in a program to remain a Scientologist by her own choice, as she was on the verge of being expelled for her and her husband's ethical lapses."
In the past couple of weeks, the O.C. star has made headlines for a series of odd incidents. At the end of January, the actress was hospitalized for a mental evaluation after going on a crazy rant in her backyard. Two days later, she explained that she was drugged with GHB at her birthday party.
This past weekend, the 31-year-old crashed into an apartment building with a U-Haul truck after misjudging the height of the carport.
With all that's going on, one could see a correlation between her substance use and her bizarre behavior. Check out a close up (below)!
