On Monday, NFL player Andrew Quarless emotionally spoke with reporters about the passing of his daughter. Unfortunately, the football star's baby girl tragically passed away during childbirth last week.
The newborn was the second child for Quarless and his girlfriend Rosie Sierra — who also have 5-year-old, Aiden. Andrew choked back tears as he revealed that his son was "really looking forward to being a big brother."
"Probably the saddest day of my life. I thank this team for the type of support they have given me to help me get through this. Just very thankful for these guys. It's really a family in here. It's really a family."

We can't imagine the pain the Green Bay Packers star must be going through. It's certainly been a rough summer for the tight end as he was recently arrested in Miami for allegedly firing two shots in the air in public. Yikes.
"It's been a lot. It's been a lot. As you grow older as a man, you really understand life and you really understand things. I'm so appreciative of this team. Even from the incident earlier in the month, there's just been so much support. More than I feel like sometimes I might deserve. Just the amount of love from everybody, it's really been good for me. It's hard to explain how much that means to me. I'm just thankful."
Quarless, who is currently in the last year of his $3 million contract, says he found support in the team's coach, Mike McCarthy.
"I just apologized to him for bringing negativity to this place. We have a great group of character guys. There's just so much character in this locker room. I just apologized for bringing negative because you never want to bring negative to something like this.
He did tell me to just focus. Don't be too hard on yourself. As a man, you learn, you make mistakes and you learn from them. His biggest thing is to just stay focused, and I kind of took that into my training, just tried to focus on my training, trained hard and tried to come back in the best shape I can. That was my main goal."
What an incredible support system. The Penn State grad also took to Instagram to thank his friends, fans, and family for all their love and support.
That statement is so beautiful and sad.
It appears that football might be exactly what the athlete needs to cope with this devastating tragedy. Andrew returned to the field on Saturday after missing the first two sessions of training camp.
"Today was rough. I'm a little drained. I was drained the past couple of days. Just to get out there today, it was a great feeling. It was a great feeling being around my teammates having fun and actually smile. Actually to smile and be happy, that was good for me."
That makes sense. Our thoughts are with Andrew and his family during this trying time.
