Mariah Carey may be done with her Las Vegas residency, but it looks like she's coming to a TV screen near you!
It's been reported that the five-time Grammy winner will appear in the upcoming season of Fox's breakout series Empire!
During the ceremony for Mimi's Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Wednesday, series creator Lee Daniels let it slip that the pop legend would guest star in Season 2 of the hip hop soap opera!
The Infinity singer was being honored with a star on the Walk of Fame when Daniels — who previously worked with Carey in 2009's Precious and 2013's The Butler — told the crowd to watch her on Empire!

This would mark the 45-year-old's first major TV appearance, aside from her stint on Real Husbands of Hollywood or that time she was on Ally McBeal.
Fox has yet to make an official announcement. After Daniels broke the casting news, he quickly stopped himself from dishing any more about Mariah's role, saying:
"I'm already in trouble with my publicist."
While no information about Carey's character is revealed just yet, we're hoping that she'll be lending her voice to the show's soundtrack as well!
Either way, this news makes us even more excited to watch Empire when it returns September 23!
