Shame! Shame! Shame!
At least, that's where Howard Stern is at with the folks behind Game of Thrones after their fifth season finale, where Lena Headey's Cersei Lannister walked the path of shame — totally nude — in the episode Mother's Mercy.
Only… she wasn't totally nude… and Stern isn't happy about that!
Headey — who wanted to focus on her performance and emotional life as opposed to worrying about her nudity — did the entire walk wearing clothes, only to have the crew backtrack and do it a second time with a naked body double.
CGI tied it all together, giving us the finished (naked) product that wasn't just Headey!
Now, we are learning Stern took some personal offense to that! Jim McBride, the founder of movie nudity chronicling site MrSkin.com, told reporters of Stern's reaction when he found out it wasn't Headey's body he saw on screen:
"It was such a let down when he found out, when they went on our website and we talked about how it wasn't Lena Headey… [Stern] was really upset about it. He felt cheated, he felt that, ‘Wow, I've invested five seasons in this show, I think Lena Headey's beautiful, and she finally did this amazing nude scene…' and then he found out it wasn't her, and he felt bad."
As if female actors owe him nudity just because he spends time watching a show?!
LOLz — whatever, Howard!
Regardless, it is pretty incredible to think that CGI was such a central point of Headey's amazing, vulnerable scene — but then again, welcome to making television in the 21st century!
