Yep, we totally didn't see this one coming!
On Tuesday, it was announced that Rob Lowe will star in a TV adaption of the Lion King called the The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar.
Lowe will voice a grown-up Simba, and the plot will center around the lion's second born son, Kion.

The series, which will preview with a one hour movie in November 2015 followed by a January 2016 release date, follows Kion as he becomes the leader of the Lion Guard, a group of animals tasked with protecting the Pride Lands.
A rep for Disney Junior quipped of the concept:
"It's kind of like The Lion King meets The Avengers."
Sounds inneresting! Check out a pic of Rob getting his Simba on in the recording studio (below)!
While this is a departure from the actor's Parks and Recreation days, we think it's cool that he's trying something new!
Joining the 51-year-old in the studio is Sarah Hyland, Atticus Shaffer, and Gabrielle Union — who will play Simba's wife, Nala!
We're curious to see how this new venture turns out! Will YOU be watching?
