Now this is how to live like a king!
Earlier this week, LeBron James announced that he's partnering with the University of Akron and offering full college scholarships to potentially thousands of children coming out of his I Promise campaign!
The campaign and scholarship — the requirements of which haven't been fully finalized yet — will likely be something like this: for every student in Akron, Ohio to finish LeBron's I Promise campaign in high school (and there are nearly 2,300 of them!), the basketball star will cover their college tuition at UA!
The first eligible group is this year's class, currently in seventh grade, which will graduate high school in 2021 and be sent off en masse to college by King James himself!
"These students have big dreams, and I'm happy to do everything I can to help them get there. They're going to have to earn it, but I'm excited to see what these kids can accomplish knowing that college is in their futures."
James even tweeted the good news late Thursday:
That's an incredible promise!
LeBron — you just became our favorite basketball player because of how much of a difference you'll soon be making in your community!
